Η Νέα Κίνηση Χορευτών και Χορογράφων Κύπρου ιδρύθηκε το 2004 ως μη κερδοσκοποκός οργανισμός, ο οποίος αντιπροσωπεύει την πλειοψηφία των επαγγελματιών χορευτών και χορογράφων της Κύπρου. Στηρίζει και ενώνει επαγγελματίες χορευτές και χορογράφους και αποσκοπεί στη γενικότερη προώθηση της τέχνης του σύγχρονου χορού, και στην ανάδειξη των καλλιτεχνών της Κύπρου στο εσωτερικό της χώρας όσο και στο εξωτερικό μέσω της εξαγωγής της τέχνης του χορού σε όλες της τις μορφές. Μεταξύ άλλων η Νέα Κίνηση δημιούργησε το Καλοκαιρινό φεστιβάλ χορού, μοναδικό στο είδος του στην Κύπρo. Επιχορηγείται ετήσια από το Τμήμα Σύγχρονου Πολιτισμού του Υφυπουργείο Πολιτισμού Κύπρου. Η Νέα Κίνηση συνεχώς προσπαθεί να αναδείξει και να προβάλει την τέχνη του χορού σε ένα ευρύ κοινό το οποίο αποτελέιται από όλες τις στρώσεις και βαθμίδες της κοινωνίας. Μιας κοινωνίας που ανήκει στην Ευρωπαϊκή οικογένεια των ανοιχτών συνόρων, στις οποίες υπάρχει συνεχής ανταλλαγή των τεχνών μετάξύ των χωρών. Σαν Νέα Κίνηση, θέλουμε να δημιουργήσουμε τις προύποθέσεις που θα κάνουν τη Κύπρο ακόμα ένα προορισμό για νέους καλλιτέχνες της τέχνης του Σύγχρονου Χορού, τόσο Κύπριους όσο και Ευρωπάίους, να παρουσιάσουν τη δουλειά τους και να μοιραστούν τις γνώσεις τους. Έχοντας όραμα τη δημιουργία καινούργιων φεστιβάλ και αποσκοπώντας στην εκπαιδευτική μορφή του χορού, στοχεύουμε καινοτόμες ιδέες να πλησιάσουν το μικρό μας νησί. Το συμβούλιο της Νέας Κίνησης είναι διετές. Το παρόν Δ.Σ απαρτίζεται από τις Γεωργία Ανδρέου (πρόεδρος), Ζωή Γιωργαλλή (αντιπρόεδρος), Διαμάντω Χατζηζαχαρία (γραμματέας), Μαρία Παπαγεωργίου (ταμίας) και Ελευθερία Σωκράτους (μέλος).
Nea Kinisi of Dancers and Choreographers of Cyprus was founded in 2004 as a non-profit organization representing the majority of professional dancers and choreographers in Cyprus. It supports and unites professional dancers and choreographers, aiming at the broader promotion of the art of contemporary dance and the recognition of Cypriot artists both within the country and abroad, through the export of dance in all its forms. Among other initiatives, Nea Kinisi created the Summer Dance Festival, unique of its kind in Cyprus. It is annually funded by the Department of Contemporary Culture of the Deputy Ministry of Culture of Cyprus. The Nea Kinisi continually strives to highlight and promote the art of dance to a broad audience that includes all layers and levels of society. A society that belongs to the European family of open borders, within which there is a continuous exchange of the arts among countries. As the Nea Kinisi, we seek to create the conditions that will make Cyprus a destination for new contemporary dance artists — both Cypriot and European — to present their work and share their knowledge. With a vision for the creation of new festivals and focusing on the educational aspect of dance, we aim to bring innovative ideas to our small island. The board of the Nea Kinisi serves a two-year term. The current board consists of Georgia Andreou (Chairwoman), Zoe Giorgalli (Vice President), Diamanto Hadjizacharia (Secretary), Maria Papageorgiou (Treasurer), and Eleftheria Sokratous (Member).
