My name is Andrea Louca, and I’m a Greek Cypriot dance artist based in London. I trained at Trinity Laban, where I graduated with First Class Honours, and later completed my MA in Dance Performance and Professional Practices with Emergence Company at the University of Salford. During this time, I performed and toured work by choreographers including Joss Arnott, Miquel Altunaga, Noa Zuk, and Lily Armah. I’ve also worked on a new performance by Marina Abramović called Balkan Erotic Epic, which deepened my engagement with ritual, presence, and endurance, and strongly influenced how I approach performance and the body.
My practice is grounded in contemporary dance, physical performance, improvisation, and dance-theatre. I’m drawn to work that is raw, embodied, and collaborative, and I value processes that allow space for curiosity, vulnerability, and experimentation. I’m interested in how movement can hold emotion, ritual, and lived experience, and how performance can create genuine connection with an audience.
Alongside dance, I explore photography and drawing as part of my creative research, often using them as tools to generate movement and ideas. I enjoy working across disciplines and in project-based settings, and I’m passionate about continuing to develop my practice through collaboration, community work, and ongoing training.
