Elisavet Panagiotou is a performer, creator and researcher working within the fields of contemporary dance, improvisation and sociocultural psychology. Her creative work focuses on movement improvisation methods rooted in sensory and emotional experiences, and on creative writing. Beyond her own creative work, Elisavet further collaborates with choreographers as a performer – dancer. As part of her formal dance education, she has followed the intensive dance program Oficina Zero in Portugal, directed by Mafalda Deville (2019-2020), and the OpenUp Performance Lab coordinated by Lia Haraki in 2021. She further holds a BA in Psychology from the University of Cyprus (2011-2015) and an MSc in Social and Cultural Psychology from LSE (2016 – 2017).
Her recent works include the site-specific work “her body” in collaboration with the Greek musician Nikos Diminakis in the context of Windcraft Festival 2025. In 2024, she presented the site-specific solo work “when the hostess gets quite…” which was performed at the State Gallery of Contemporary Art – Majestic in 2024 as well as the solo performance “childhood leftovers” that was performed at Open Up Festival (2023), OnBodies Festival (2024) and Meanwhile (2024). As a performer, Elisavet collaborates with choreographers like Arianna Economou, Annie Khoury, Avgoustina Triarou, Machi Dimitriadou Lindahl, Maria Kamberis, Zoe Georgallis and Viky Kalla among others.
Alongside her artistic work, she is pursuing a PhD in Psychology at the University of Cyprus where she studies the embodied experiences of dancers and how these may constitute their Selfhood processes.
